Why are you banging on about pre-orders Tansy??

Pre-orders are power because:

1) Every pre-order sends a signal to bookshops that Charity Shop World is worth stocking. This is crucial to the life of a book. As an indie author it is hard to get noticed by bookshops, but your pre-order will make a difference.

2) A pre-order is a commitment to independent publishing, buying Charity Shop World means Indigo Press will be able to commission and publish more incredible books.

3) Since 2011 I have fought for the space to publish non-fiction books that critique fashion through an anti-capitalist lens. Four books on and though the radical fashion space is thankfully bigger, it is still tiny compared to the impact of the industry. If you like my work and you want to champion and grow our space in this increasingly authoritarian world – then please pre-order Charity Shop World. Authors like me can only keep writing if people prove to publishers that there is a market for radical ideas.

4) Let’s dream big: Pre-orders are also important because best seller lists for books are based upon the first week of sales! That’s a massive mountain to climb...but the first week includes your pre-order (and Stitched Up did become the No.1 fashion book on amazon) so let’s aim high.
