Hello,

Thank you so much to all the new people who have signed up over the past month - it is great to have you on board.

This is a short and sharp newsletter about tomorrow's Day of Action. Expect two more short, sharp emails from me soon to mark some exciting things including a groundbreaking piece of research that I've collaborated on and which is nearly ready for sharing. After that we'll have a very special edition of the Patched advice column.

Let's get to it - see you again soon!

International Boycott Reebok Day

Saturday 22nd November is the international Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) action day targeting Reebok's sponsorship of the Israeli Football Association, read on to see what you can do to join in:

1) Use this handy Clean Clothes Campaign form to email seven executives at Reebok and Reebok's parent company.

2) Join in the campaign with ANTI-SWEATSHOP ACTIVISTS AGAINST APARTHEID who are encouraging people to:

  1. FLOOD REEBOK'S SOCIALS: Join the social media storm by commenting across @reebok’s socials on the day. Top tip: Reebok is known for restricting comments on IG so send a DM too. Sample posts available here.
  2. TAKE ACTION IN-STORE: Print out our discreet pocket drops to sneak into Reebok products in Reebok stores or any sports store selling Reebok goods. You can find them here:

At least 807 Palestinian athletes have been killed in Israel's genocide

Reebok was added to the list of brands being boycotted because Reebok is the main sponsor of the Israel Football Association (IFA), which includes teams in Israel’s illegal settlements on occupied Palestinian land.

As Anti-Sweatshop Activists Against Apartheid state: 'By including football teams in the illegal settlements, the IFA is directly complicit in and legitimises the violent and illegal theft of Palestinian land to give way for these settlements, which form the infrastructure of Israel’s occupation and apartheid regime, and seek to systematically obstruct Palestinian life, by restricting Palestinian freedom of movement, access to natural resources, and the ability to build homes and business.'

Reebok’s slogan is ‘Sport is Everything’ and yet by choosing to sponsor the IFA during war and genocide, they are a blood soaked brand. 807 Palestinian athlete have been killed and the playgrounds, stadiums and parks where Palestinians once played football have been destroyed or turned into detention and torture camps.

Thank you for reading and please take at least two minutes out of your day to fill in the form to write to Reebok and demand they end their sponsorship of the IFA.

In solidarity, Tansy.
