Photo diary for Spring? Groundbreaking.
It's been a busy few months.
I've been busy with the doing of things!
There's a phrase I like: 'If something is worth doing, it's worth doing badly' i.e. flossing your teeth once a week is better than not at all, drinking three glasses of water a day is better than none... you get the picture. So on that note, I thought I would do a photo diary to cover March, April & May as something cobbled together but hopefully enjoyable is better than nowt!
[Also to be transparent because I often feel the negative impact of scrolling through the outside of people's lives.... These Are My Happy Photos. There are also crappy, stressful, disappointing things happening I'm just not taking photos of them. If things are hard for you - solidarity, you've got this.]
May - Indie Showcase 2026
Last night I accompanied my fantastic publisher Indigo Press to an event for book shops and book sellers, book reviewers, festival organisers, podcasters and literary agents. 180 people packed into the Canal Museum and I gave my first public talk on Charity Shop World.

A big stack. Book reviewers meeting Charity Shop World for the first time. My wonderful literary agent Andrew Gordon who I do not thank enough. The 2026 line-up. Me doing my first CSW talk.
I'm so excited to read the other books in the showcase: Big Man by Dean Atta, Boring Asian Female by Canwen Xu, After Care by Divya Maniar, Invisible Rainbows by Dr Alfredo Carpineti, Chiquitita by Pedro Carmona-Alvarez and A Study In Failure by Simon Matthews.
Early May
- I worked really hard with a great team to get Green Party candidates elected in the local council elections here in the UK.
- Labour Behind the Label turned 25 and we had a great party
- ...And the fabulous Lakyn Carlton came to London so we finally got to hangout in person. Check out Lakyn's awesome newsletter.

Polling station. Me at 07:15 on election day. Yellow birthday cake. Me and Lakyn.
April
In April I went to the Resisting Big Tech Empires conference and met Cory Doctorow. And went to a gorgeous clothes mending workshop.

Me and my pals. Me and Cory. Learning a new mending technique.
Rana Plaza Memorial
On the 25th April the Rana Plaza Solidarity Collective (RPSC) organised a memorial to mark the anniversary of the Rana Plaza factory collapse. Followed by an action at Hugo Boss because they have pulled out of the life-saving Pakistan Accord leaving thousands of workers at risk.

Photos by the wonderful Kim Ford.
March
In March RPSC organised a Fashion Against Fashion bloc on the gigantic March Together demonstration against the far-right. It was an absolutely huge demonstration and I was so happy to be with so many brilliant people. You can see the full photo set here - Kim Ford is a wonderful photographer!

Some more things that made me smile

Purple and yellow. 'Groundbreaking'. The day I finished proofreading Charity Shop World. My partner reading Charity Shop World in the park before the Indie Showcase.
Don't forget, you can pre-order Charity Shop World right here. Pre-ordering is so important for the life of a book and will really help me out if you are able to:
A huge thank you for reading, pre-ordering, and to everyone making the world a better place.
In solidarity, Tansy.
p.s. I got 1,000 bookmarks!
